///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Red Riding Hood is the epitome of whimsy, the words are whimsical as they roll off the tongue.
Red Riding Hood whimsical letters form whimsical words.
It had to be quick just a short window of opportunity to red riding hood something down pen and paper fast drawing no time for thought. Then photograph and apps and finally here.
Red Riding Hood I hope you enjoy!

Our host this week is the very talented Miss Patrice who has a wonderful Red Riding Hood post on her blog you can find other wonderful posts of this theme there......just follow the links!

Drawing Challenge :: Habit

I draw circles hundreds of them at one sitting

I document accidental groups of circles

I surround myself with their roundness to gaze upon

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This was a no brainer for me if we look at the definition of Habit that being routines of  repeated actions then I cant get away from the repeated circles in my life I draw them, I surround myself with them. There is something satisfying and nurturing in drawing the roundness of shape to let ones eye follow around the boundary of a circle.

Its a little late this one I have been busy but a big thankyou to Kirsten our host of this drawing challenge you can visit her blog and follow the links for more habits.

Enjoy Helen x

There are lots of facets appearing before my eyes jewellery, fashion, architecture and graphic design.
Federation Square in Melbourne is where most Melbournians penchants for faceted design began and with the influx of beautiful design that emulate the pureness of a facet becoming plentiful the people of Melbourne rejoice at the choice.

I found these faceted designs on pinterest.

I hope you enjoy Helen :)

After beautiful sunshine and vivid blue skies we are back to dull grey. Im so over grey Im sure you all understand that impatience for the sky to clear and the sun to impart a little warmth and so we wait my heart sinks when I open my eyes to another grey vista out my window.
So I have decided to turn a negative into a positive and embrace grey and turned to pinterest as you do when finding such inspiration and found a lot of grey that I actually love.

I hope you all have happiness in light bright days and if not an opportunity to find some elsewhere.

Enjoy your week!

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Hello! well Im back from the beautiful seaside village of Inverloch scottish in name but not very scottish in person.
We had a wonderful time relaxing with beach walks and cafe visits and just general wandering around the town.
The weather was magnificent and the first real sign that summer is just around the corner. It was real shorts and thong (the feet kind!) weather.
This weeks challenge is portrayal/Abblid hosted by the lovely Ariane.
I decided through photoessays to try and portray the character and personality of the little town of Inverloch. It may be small but its history and character packed a big punch in evoking childhood memories of hot and hazy summer holidays, camping and caravans, swimming and fishing, eating fish and chips and icecream. Such a wonderful blend of welded metal forms, concrete, sand and wilderness.

If you would like to see more portrayals just visit Arianes blog and follow the links.

If you would like to see more pics of my trip you can find them on my instagram site here.

Have a wonderful week

Off for the weekend

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Hello!
Im off for the weekend to a place called Inverloch 2 hours drive South East of Melbourne for a little R&R.
I cant say that it is the seaside because it essentially is typical wild ocean and sweeping shoreline that Australia has. You can check it out on google maps if you would like to see the amazing beach walks and cute Hamlet that I will be indulging in here.
So I may or may not get to participate in the challenge this week but may try to post a special challenge treat from my visit we shall see the place Im staying at says they have wifi so fingers crossed.

The pics above are from last weekend when I visited one of the open gardens just round the corner from me it was spectacular and I wanted to live there I really did. It was a wooden colonial house with the most amazing modern sculptures in the beautiful old garden.

The mangoes were so ripe that their colour of gold and orange blush were blinding. This is a sign that summer is just around the corner.

Their are roses everywhere it takes me forever to walk anywhere these days as the roses are so breathtaking that I have to keep stopping to smell, admire and take fotos. I think of you dear Ariane everytime I see them so I thought I would snap a few just for you.

I will pop in when I get back to see how everyone is enjoying their weekends I wish you all some R&R

Helen x
